I run relay.nostrarabia.com. needs to have relatively good performance, and be fast.
I used to run it locally, but it was not reliable enough.
mad because i almost never have outages on my vps.bg and in the past i've found contabo was really good
why are nostr service providers using shitty mainstream cloud (aws/cloudflare/microsoft/google) instead of their own dedicated servers? seems kinda lazy and shitty if you ask me... they are more often plagued by broad outages than individual, geographically separated smaller scale servers
and not to forget the inordinate bullshit especially from cloudflare messing with VPN traffic
contabo according to a few people I know has issues with overprovisioned CPU capacity and cores
the problem with media hosting is, gl building a large CDN for a price that you will be able to sustain from the nostr people that expect everything is free
