So far I have …

Deleted my Twitter account with my professional network

Accidentally deleted my personal mail list with everyone I’ve ever considered a close contact

Blanked my LinkedIn profile.

I’ve cut all ties to my professional network πŸ˜‚ something that was built up over a decade. Prospects suicide.

when 1 stands on his own....he owns

they own

I never used twitter but FB deleted, LinkedIn is deleted. And I never talk to anyone so basically I’ve ghosted civilization. πŸ˜†

lol i did the same! and had the same realisation πŸ˜‚ oh well! guess we'll just have to live outside their system

If push comes to shove we can beg nostr for jobs πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚

find a boomer & make a good deal......boomer opportunity funds.....there r always deals

we grew up p2p/cash on the barrel head

You won't have to beg, man!

after cutting ourselves off from society with nostr as our only connection to the real world, i don't think we'll be suitable for normal jobs anyway πŸ˜‚ it's already hard enough maintaining socially acceptable conversation around normal people

True. I vibe best with bitcoin and nostr crowd.

Welcome to the club πŸ€™πŸ’œ

Based

Or stupid πŸ˜†

Accidentally deleting your mailing list was probably bad but I think the rest was good. You might miss some opportunities with LinkedIn but fuck those snakes, you can probably get the job you want by showing your work

If you're in an artistic line of work. In mine which is a rather commercial/human relations kind of job with deliverables that can't be put on a public portfolio for show, LinkedIn is absolutely vital to keep networks and contacts and to be on the radar of potential employers/business partners.

Do I like it? I fucking despise it. But there's no replacement for it.

That’s fair, it doesn’t fit everyone unfortunately.

Yeah damn it nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx makes a good case for cutting all those ties

Did the same a few years back. The only β€˜social’ sites I’m on are here and the Fediverse.

Who needs contacts anyway…

Did it 15 yrs ago. World did not end. Still happy. Still talkin shid. Waaaay less headaches and sidequests

I rather die than start a Facebook account or a LinkedIn account.

All in!

I still have ~8k emails that may include my personal contacts if I sift through them ;)

There will be a DVM for that soon enough 🫠

GG. Linkedin and Facebook are particularly cesspools of data harvesting.

*Achievement Unlocked: delete all legacy social/professional networks* πŸ˜‚

Now to rebuild them on nostr

The grind is hard, but so much fun & fulfilling.

Oh don't worry the NSA has a backup

Done this my self, been feeling so much better mentally since that.

what about YouTube?

I don’t have a YouTube network l

you recommend Flare as YouTube alternative?

Not yet. It has potential but no content yet and some performance issues. Zack said he’s working on something.

Wow, that's a big step! I did something similar a while backβ€”wiped my digital slate clean. It felt risky but turned out to be a refreshing start. It's like decluttering; you end up making space for new, valuable connections. Here's to rebuilding and discovering what truly matters! πŸš€

If and you received instructions, you should should share with the group the details

I think I'll put my LinkedIn account in the chopping block. I've already deleted my Twitter stuff. Still on FB because family won't leave it, but I'm working in them. Still have IG because that how my clients communicate, unfortunately. I'll get them too. Slowly, but surely.

Deleted LinkedIn a long time ago but then got a job where I was required to make a new one. Sucks but it is what it is. I only keep it bc if I get another job in sales, ill most likely be required to use it.

With a name like Karnage, I always saw it coming.

The old Karnage had to die so that the new Karnage could rise from the ashes. Enjoy your resurrection!

And besides, having no contact with friends or family is great for personal opsec.

Congratulations on your new freedom
