i’m very new here but i’ve already realized that most users who start using nostr end up giving up on it and abandon the protocol in its entirety.
anyone have a good explanation as to why this is happening?

too much bitcoin maybe 😹
i just took that as an oppurtunity to learn
also, i'm more used to "defining your own algorithm" than most; perhaps thats a barrier that people coming from centralized social media struggle to overcome 🤔
standard reason is that they can't find people with similar interests
Overvaluation of the convenience of an established platform.
Undervaluation of the benefits of a fledgling protocol.
A YouTube commenter on my recent video about decentralized networks mentioned that they always get flooded with right wing people without getting a wide range of content
Lack of algorithms, relative size of the user base compared to other socials, and mediocre user experience on a number of the apps requires more patient work.
It's not addicting like the other social medias, and there's not a lot of content variety.
I think it's the only healthy way to do social media, so I hope more people come and stay. But most people don't do healthy.
there seems to be a mass exodus during spam attacks especially when the spam attack is gay porn 😂
