How is the home grown tobacco? I've heard it's much different than anything that can be found at the corner store smoke shop. Was it pretty easy to grow?

I like to pick the mullien before it starts growing the flower stalk, just pull the whole plant roots and all. Hand it to dry for a couple weeks. I strip the fluffy leaf away from the stiff ribs. Makes it easier to crumble everything up together by hand.

Mixed the tobacco is fine, on it's own it's a bit rough. I have not "cured" it like the norm, I just hung it to dry then crumbled it into jars and bags. I grew Hopi and Delaware Indian tobaccos and Bel-B which I got at the NASA Ames center in Maryland that was growing in their planter outside. The Bel-B grew the best of the 3 but took the longest. The Hopi and Delaware were flowered out mid summer but the Bel-B didn't flower until right before frosts. I grew them in my greenhouse and they went crazy.
