in other words the average person is so stupid they actually NEED tyranny, authority and "The Science"

they need somebody to put on an official looking suit whether it is a Doctor or a Priest and then order them around like they were a dog

The average middleclass civilised person doesn't want to be correct.

The average middleclass civilised person wants to be popular with those above them in the social pyramid.

Snopes tells them what the largest networks in the Establishment want them to repeat like parrots, and they do. Then they feel safe.

thought provoking. i believe i spend most of my time worrying about this as well. even when i feel liberated for the most part to speak my mind, i find i still don't want to offend people with what i think might be true for fear of losing popularity.

my excuse is that since i'm not humorous. and i have a vague feeling that it doesn't help to be truthful if someone can't have some humor. otherwise i just look like a crazy grouch.
