-THE BITCOIN ISLAND LIFE-

Terry Fox was a young Canadian who, after losing a leg to cancer, set out on an extraordinary journey to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. He ran an incredible 5,373 kilometers across Canada in just 143 days before his health forced him to stop.

Terry’s determination inspired the entire nation. His goal was to collect one dollar for every Canadian—around 24 million people at the time—and by February 1981, he had succeeded, raising $24.17 million.

Following his passing, the Terry Fox Foundation was established to carry on his legacy. It organizes annual runs in Canada and around the world, supporting cancer research in his name. To date, the foundation has raised over $715 million to help find a cure.
