Bought a new hardware wallet this morning. I need to take additional steps to secure my Bitcoin. Also ordered Concierge Setup for assistance and guidance because that will hold me accountable. Not your keys, not your coins.

I would make sure that once you setup the hardware wallet. that you copy the public key information and a receive address on paper, then whip the hardware wallet and try recovering it. Verify the pubkey and receive address matches. Need 100% confidence in its recovery before sending funds

Thanks for the guidance. I have looked into self custody and done some research, but keep putting it off. Need to make this a priority.
