YOU are their property now
It’s your biological seed phrase. I don’t get how people can’t see this.
Seriously.
For all we know they could be making up their results just to get your DNA and use it against you later in life.
100%... even if we're solving some very heinous crimes, I cringe when hearing about the use of these DNA results against people. They were violated. There's too much in your DNA about other people for it to be a thing you own to give access to. I'm not sure what part of the constitution or HIPAA laws or what should be changed but I feel very strongly that this is a violation, for any use of this data outside of direct customer health services.
I did in the past and significantly regret it. There are a lot of emerging health studies that are interesting. And we found a cousin of my mom that she didn’t know about.
The world needs a decentralized way to support those functions but hard to see how.
But yes I’m pretty sure my dna is in China labs now.
