Using this argument you might as well forget using any computer altogether if you care about privacy. And especially the internet. Its an extreme argument but a fair one, and despite my own actions, I actually DO advocate it. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5qJjNM2Kx0 )

That said, I stand by my point, open source is MORE likely to expose security concerns than closed sourced ever can. The risk is lower with OS, I never claimed it is eliminated. And lets be honest, NOBODY with more than one brain cell has made that claim, I find it irritating to hear people use that strawman over and over whenever someone advocates using open source as if they ever claimed its the holy grail of internet security. It isn't, AND its still a better way of reducing risk.
