The goal should be to form a negative association with smoking cigarettes. For me, I was trying to quit when my grandpa died of a heart attack. He smoked all his life and overnight my new association was “these killed my grandpa and I didn’t get to say goodbye”. Wasn’t hard to stick to it after that.
