i’ve taken up rowing as my secondary exercise to complement my primary of walking. it’s full body, low impact, meditative, and actually useful.

That sounds great Jack 🤗
Good for longevity 😉
Rowing is fun, and low impact
Paddleboarding for me, so rowing with one oar 👍😀 I love the views on the sea
Not good for the back. Swimming is amazing
Rowing and Swimming 💪
.....merily merily merily merily, etc.
I would recommend an exercise with a philosophy behind it. Then you don't only train your body but simultaneously your mind, your human genius. I do Kung Fu (Wushu Sanda, Tai Chi, ...) but there are many more such as Jiu Jitsu and Yoga. The most important thing is to find a school with a wise master, not merely a trainer or martial artist.
Which one did you choose? I've asked around for advice.
Breathing exercise is also a good daily start. 🙏🧘♂️ I always straight away know how fit the body is after starting the day with wim hof methode.
Jack do you do any specific meditation? How about yoga?
I love kayaking it’s meditative and on the ocean or sound
rowing machine or actual rowing on water?
Welcome to my world!
To meditate or think, it's like walking and it’s a great cardio exercise 💜
I couldn’t picture you doing CrossFit lol 😂
Saced sex is great exercise and meditative but find the right partner
This is excellent, nostr:nprofile1qqsgydql3q4ka27d9wnlrmus4tvkrnc8ftc4h8h5fgyln54gl0a7dgspzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wvh8xmmrd9skcqgdwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkcmvwljq!
Another similar low impact, full-body, and meditative exercise physical therapists usually recommend for our patients/clients would be: aquatic therapy.
So in other words, you can take a dip in a community pool (or yours if you have one), just deep enough for the water to be collarbone level, and walk a few laps around the pool.
** You could definitely progress from there by:
• increasing the speed (brisk walk/jog)
• increasing the resistance (start with a small pair of dumb-bells with a reasonable + appropriate mount of weight)
• performing static exercises by standing on one position in the pool (jumping jacks, tai chi-esque movements, and half-squats as long as your head doesn’t submerge underwater for safety reasons).
Therapeutic aquatic exercise is so helpful & effective because water provides buoyancy, which reduces the stress on joints and supports body weight, making it ideal for rehabilitation and low-impact exercise.
The buoyancy of water allows for easier movement and reduces the impact on joints, which is beneficial for individuals with conditions such as arthritis or those recovering from injuries.
Additionally, the resistance experienced in water aids in muscle strengthening and endurance, while the viscosity of water provides a natural form of resistance that enhances muscle strength and endurance as movements are performed slowly and deliberately in all directions.

I also rowed for many years.
I woke up daily at 4 am to avoid the wear and tear of the hot sun.
It was a great experience!
The precaution I would recommend to you is to ALWAYS, regardless of your self-confidence, wear a life jacket.
There was a day, after an hour and a half of rowing, I fell out of the boat and didn't even have the strength to get back up.
I only survived because a fishing boat was passing by.
When surfing?
My new spiritual guru 💜
I love yoga for balance! 🧘♀️
I have to add, Yoga is beyond exercise is connection to the body and the secret to staying fit and longevity!
Ruh-Row!
Rowing on the water or on the erg?
that’s great!!
Wow. This is amazing. I want to learn rowing too. This is just like in “Lessons In Chemistry.” Rowing looks so beautiful & serene & romantic - we have to be in sync, truly in unison together in order to row the boat, requiring mastery and skill - otherwise it’s into the water. 💦 Rowing and its powerful symbolism was a central theme throughout the series. The sport is rewarding in so many countless ways. I’ve been longing to try rowing ever since. That and beef tallow. 🚣🫂❤️🔥

Starting in college was life changing for me. Nothing else matches the cardio and muscular benefit
you should try tai chi -
Is this time efficient too?
What makes you value low impact so highly?
I usually find low impact to be less fun 😅 Can fallback to low impact in the rare times i get injured
And what about hiking?
You can just visit your canyons and national parks...
If it’s high resistance so you can increase muscle mass. Better longer term health outcomes with greater muscle mass.
i’ve taken up #Napping as my secondary #Exercise to complement my primary of #Sleeping. it’s full body, low impact, #Meditative, and actually useful.
