If your household has 6-figure income, but is still on a tight budget, this is why.

$100k merely puts you in the upper-half, not the upper-class.

In the past few years this has been so revelationary to realise. I grew up thinking I could live stress free on like 60,000/yr... then I learned that nearly 20 years had passed since I formed this idea and inflation had been ripping! 😮‍💨

I work around a lot of higher earners and most of them blow money on stupid stuff like they don't have a worry in the world. The problem is that most of it is on debt, so it isn't apparent just how deep the shit is from the surface.

I know people who spend 20k (debt) on an ATV and trailer yet have 1k in the bank for emergencies. And that doesn't count the cars/trucks/house/etc. I agree that there are many problems with income and inflation, but some people also have a debt problem.

honestly, i’m okay with even being in middle class, which bitcoin has helped me to be. i still work my blue collar job, and still go about each day like i have nothing. as long as i am able to help my parents, and pay my rent every month im good.

We're "only" middle class, but we've worked really hard to cut living costs and live below our means, so we have savings. Which is nice.

its a relief and calm that i wish everyone is able to feel. a blessing and a test of patience. you are such a lovely sight on my feed, i hope you are doing good

Yep, now the key is to stack as much #bitcoin as you can as quickly as you can, and let inflation do its thing.

I don’t like this graph. It’s almost useless.

The cohort spans are weirdly sized (10k, 25k, 50k). And the coin stack is being abused for graphical effect, simply unrelated to how much money the cake is made of.

This trap is called “glass slipper” on callingbullshit.org https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=59teS0SUHtI

They put the median right in the middle and then cut the cohorts bigger, as you go up, to reflect the larger span in the two halves.

Okay, so it's econo-art, but still interesting. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

The data is also guestimates, with the Asian set too small, but not worse than most.

I yhink the median is right. It’s at 50% of people.
