Bitcoin and the imperfect world

As a Bitcoiner you must accept that the world is imperfect and that Bitcoin is imperfect, it is the only way to win the war, otherwise you will not even win battles.

Why do I say this? I see a lot of lack of pragmatism in the Bitcoin world and a lot of idealism that is useless.

To make it clear, let's assume the extreme case. Bitcoin right now doesn't have a full scaling solution, that doesn't mean it can't be used by everyone, what it means is that it can't be used by everyone with self-custody. In a world where everyone uses Bitcoin and Lightning is the norm, not everyone would have a Lightning channel because technically it would take decades to open all the necessary channels and the fees would be unbearable for ordinary mortals.

This brings us to an extreme scenario where we mostly use Lightning with escrow.

What have we solved? Well, with respect to the previous scenario where we used custodial and forgeable money, we have moved to a model where we use custodial but unforgeable money.

It seems silly but you would have gotten rid of the currency devaluation.

This is the worst case scenario for the future as things currently stand, as Bitcoiner we have to fight to reach the ideal scenario which is money with self-custody and without currency devaluation, but being aware that perfection does not exist and that we will have to accept trade-offs.

What do we currently have? We are going to order it from smallest to largest and we are not going to include anything that is not yet in production.

Custodial lightning - ecash > Liquid - RSK > Non-custodial lightning > Bitcoin on-chain

So what do I mean? That don't rule out any option, use them all, everything is valid because we don't have any magic solution to scale Bitcoin.

I’m using:

- fiat cash for maximum privacy because is more acceptable than monero or other shitcoins.

- BTC on main chain just for store of value.

- lightning just for small transactions (rarely)

Depending on your technical skills, Monero can be more private than cash.

Serial numbers are all tracked.

So ATM -> you -> merchant -> ATM is fully tracked.

With FCMP in the near future you don't need to rely on your cash trade partner to do the right thing.

MONERO even is more private but when I want to spend it on basics is not so acceptable that’s the problem not the privacy . Cash are more easy to use and accessible, acceptable and relatively private .

And I heard that if you swap it for lightning ⚡️ because there’s no xmr option, MR.ROBOT doesn’t kick you out of the gang

I don’t care about monero

Yeah cash is great. Use it as much as you can.

Do it like the Argentinians.

Store value in Bitcoin. Use Monero wherever digital cash is accepted.

I repeat: normal people don't use bitcoin, they haven't even heard of that obscurity called monero; they accept cash easily (for privacy) . If they accept bitcoin I will definitely use bitcoin p2p properly as it was designed (and definitely not monero) .

You are underestimating Monero because you are a fiat price maxi.

the biggest stupid thing I've ever heard🤣🤣 and you buy anything with monero anywhere? I say stop. Sorry I don't have time to explain and try to convince you;

I've bought plenty of things with Monero, wine, hats, a book, snack bars, and more.

Anything you can buy with Bitcoin, you can basically buy with Monero too.

Now, yes granted for some things we're still early but there's workarounds like https://trocador.app/ , and https://cakepay.com/

Trocador let's you send Monero to an address, and Swap to Bitcoin, they even have a merchant tool for this called AnonPay.

Cakepay is a monero gift card website similar to Bitrefill.

And In most multicoin merchants that accept Both Bitcoin, and Monero, Monero tends to be just as big, if not bigger than Bitcoin.

People spend Monero, and I'm one of them ✋️😃.

There's also coincards. Monero usually dominates their giftccard service as well.

I bought almost anything with Monero already and you'd be stunned how many people know about it or even accept it.

I am already on a Monero standard meaning that I only need fiat cash and Bitcon so often.

Cash is great locally but isn't digital. P2P digital cash is a new category and original goal.

I can't instantly send someone money anywhere on the planet with cash or do a lot of other things that are only possible with p2p digital cash.

For digital I use btc p2p

Cash is p2p and private, but not digital

Bitcoin is p2p and digital, but not private

Wallet of Satoshi is neither p2p nor private

And monero is digital and private and infinite supply and no one heard and use it; not store of value 😁

Monero is a much better store oft value thsn cash. It's supply is smaller than BTC's and inflation is about the same.

Long term viability is secured for Monero but unclear for BTC.

Let for me btc and keep your shitcoin on long term

I use it as money and store of value 😉

"infinite supply" > This argument really ?

"no one heard and use it" > Are you serious ?

"not store of value" > Thanks for the joke 😄

Monero seems ok isn't ?
