What are the stats on fountain app? Do normal people use it or is it just people listening to the latest What Bitcoin Did To My Arse episodes? Real question lol:) #asknostr

I'm curious about this, too.
Would be quite interesting if it is operating beyond the bubble.
Yup. I doubt it yet.
I just find it insufferable.
I have the app but it was so glitchy when I first downloaded it. I stopped trying and don’t think about it any longer.
So... I just redownoaded the app. It's not as bad as it was, just from a pure interface standpoint.
I'm not really going to invest the time to set if it doesn't crash constantly because I just started a podcast and bumped up the playback speed and... It's not as good at that as other apps. So... I'm still pretty done with it just from a basic standpoint. If your primary functions don't... Function... Then I don't care what icing is on the cake.
I wish more devs understood that stability and functionality are more important than early releases.
The computer industry has gone to great lengths to stop devs from thinking that way, mainly by sabotaging the process of software development itself.
All the programming languages are trash and everyone uses github. The system filters for monke brains.
Out of my (almost) decade as a SQAE, only one company actually let QA stop shipment. The rest released despite showstopper defects.
my experience so far on #nostr, is seeing an app being pushed, and working for several days afterward, then left aside ... weeks after been published
A bit annoyed by this
I see apps (SimpleX, for example) being pushed that fail their basic functionality. Meanwhile, bells and whistles are continually added.
If the engine of my car randomly dies every few miles, I realy don't care if it has screens in the headrests.
Normal? I like it. I use it every day. More than just bitcoin podcasts. I've herd issues on iPhone but work great on android for me. My 2 sats.
I couldn't give you my 2 SATs âš¡ issue?
I use it all the time. I'm a fan of impact theory
Don't know that. I'm not big on podcasts tho.
I also wonder how you would tell if fountain has reached behind the bitcoin bubble.
Perhaps simply a user of Fountain who has never used it to listen to a bitcoin-related podcast. That would suffice I suppose. nostr:npub1v5ufyh4lkeslgxxcclg8f0hzazhaw7rsrhvfquxzm2fk64c72hps45n0v5
I found fountain to be insufferable. It would crash while playing, download content while on mobile data (despite that setting being off), etc.
Podverse has been much more stable, and it still has the zaps/sats/support function just like fountain.
I think fountain is great as a nostr first podcasting 2.0 app. It's a novel feature to see the discussion about the podcast in the app. But I get if that's not wanted or liked.
However, as a podcast app, it is not better IMHO as even non PC2.0 apps.
For example, pocket casts would pause the audio when navigation came on, fountain doesn't seem to.
But that's fine, all technology has tradeoffs. In general, most technophiles never tell you what something doesn't do.
