What destinations are you looking at?

Portugal and Germany.
Those would be the most viable options for both my wife and I.
But I’m keeping an eye on how things develop in Central and South America.
Are you living in Brazil right now?
No, USA
Oh, okay. Don’t know why I thought you are living in Brazil
Millions of people put their name in greencard lottery every years
Going from USA to Germany is like moving states in my opinion. It would be better to stay, rather than move from one potentially chaotic place to another.
My advice to most people would be to explore Central and South America or parts of Asia, sooner rather than later.
Europe has arguably more problems than the U.S. right now. They are intentionally creating a nationalistic reaction.
Think about immigration flows, political differences inside the country, family, protests, purchasing price index and access to resources. Germany is de-industrialising, just the rest of Europe to follow.
People fleeing to the West are going in the wrong direction, just at the wrong time IMHO.
Yes, I agree. I'm originally from Austria. My wife is Brazilian. We decided to leave Austria and stay in Brazil. But things aren't much better here either. They have just passed a law that children from 6 months to 5 years have to be vaccinated against Covid. They have also been researching CBDCs for some time and will probably be one of the first countries to implement them. The whole world is fucked up right now
I know myself that moves like this are never easy. The good thing is you have your wife’s family to support you both. And Mercosur will still allow you to jump around if need be.
I do believe that such mandates are easier to circumvent this side of the water, than in Europe. You will find like-minded people who are prepared to help you, less worried about the ramifications. As the Sovereign Individual states:
“It will therefore be easier for persons living in traditionally poorer countries to surmount the hurdles that their governments have thereto placed in the path of economic growth.”
Many things get “lost in translation” when you move between continents. That’s what I would be looking for with my move, the “loss in translation”.
In any case, Europe, which I know quite well, is easy for my family, given our situation, but I’m not married to that idea. That’s why I mentioned that I’ll be keeping an eye on how things develop in Central and South America.
I hear you. Portugal is a better idea. They are part of the EU (a sinking ship) and do depend on business & immigration to sustain themselves. But they have a solid friendly culture and having family as a safety net can be important.
Hope things become clearer and easier for you guys. Enjoy your Sunday with the fam, my friend
Thank you, have a great day too 🤙
I thought Germany is pretty bad too...
Any reason for it?
In what sense is it bad?
Lack of freedom
We’ll see how things develop. No place is 100% ideal. I intend to remain flexible and adapt to whatever situation presents.
I guess my original question is that if you feel it's good enough for freedom
In my estimation things might get pretty wild in many places
I see. What drew you to Germany in the first place? I heard good things about Portugal suburbs.
Portugal is changing, though. Everything is super fluid.
Taxation is Germany is actually quite favorable, I believe, rn for BTC.
Certain countries in Europe might be attractive. Others might need to be avoided.
I have to work with another person. I’m not alone. I can’t do things exactly how I would do them just for myself.
