Just one or two hey? 😂
Discussion
Just a couple, here and there.
Very rare, but just happened:
Incredibly sad and condolences to families involved. 💜
Seems like the bear really needed to eat(but who knows exactly what transpired), such a shame for all involved 😢
Yes, for sure. It is very unusual for a bear to kill two people and a dog, then remain in the area. Very strange. We spend a lot of time camping close to Ya Ha Tinda Ranch. There is public land, wild horses, and a few backcountry horse outfitters that have camps in and around the area they were attacked.
Have you ever come across one out there?
Seems odd that the dog was also killed, something doesn’t seem quite right here but then I’m not expert in this area.
I know dogs are very loyal and probably was trying to help his human, but all three killed?
I haven't seen any grizzlies out there. Black bear, but never a grizz. Dogs will usually stay and defend their owners. Usually the dog is enough to spook the bear. I think the dog probably died first.
I worked in forestry in the summers to put myself through university and I had a grizzly stalking one of my crewmembers when we were out on a cutblock. I chased it off with a quad twice, but it kept coming back. It would just walk along the treeline where she was working. Finally, I had to call the foreman on the sat phone and he came out with his rifle. He shot twice, really close to it and then it didn't come back.
Unusual then to see a Grizzly then isn’t it?
But then as you say one would think the dog would scare it off?
Maybe it caught them all off guard?
Yes, grizz are not very common. Yeah, most times a dog would scare it off, but it sounds like this bear was especially agressive. Witout any cubs too? I'm not sure why?
Hopefully you might get more of this story in the coming days.
Could you keep me posted as I’m very intrigued as to what’s transpired here, not normal by any means - and thanks for sharing this 💜
