Aside from whale facts, what do you like about it? Story never seemed interesting to me.

It is a pretty bizarre story. With so many scenes that just seems like slice of whaler life. It's been a few years since I last read it, but I'd say that there isn't anything specific I'd point to, but I just like it as a whole.
