When only 23 percent of Americans on X, and an even smaller percentage into “crypto” are Bitcoiners wasting their time on X trying to convert people on the platform? @BitcoinMagazine #bitcoin  It’s time to leave.

Thank you for writing this. I've been saying many times over the past year, that it's astonishing that many Bitcoiners get decentralized money, yet seem to love centralized communication. I believe for some it boils down to ego, network affect, and the inability to do the work. Either that, or they care more about NgU than they're letting on. For some, it's most likely the latter, but I'd like to believe that many just do not want to put in the work to start all over. Some most likely care much more about a follower count or influence that they feel they have, over not having that on Nostr.

X pays them to be there, right?

Yes, now. That wasn't the case a month ago. What was the excuse prior?

nostr numbers

No problem! I came to the same conclusions myself. Like you said most Bitcoiners just don’t want to put in the effort to start over here but the thing is once the work is put in and they have the follower count they desire, they don’t have to worry about being rugged by a centralized platform!!

Plus the cognitive dissonance of advocating for decentralized money while using a centralized platform makes Bitcoiners look disingenuous… I don’t understand it to be honest.

The sooner we break centralized communication platforms the better it is for Bitcoiners and the world.

Plus nostr is just cool AF, why wouldn’t you not want to use it?

Just finished reading your article on Bitcoin magazine. 100% agree with you. Similar to #bitcoin, it will take time, education, and a bit of frustration coming to a head with people leaving X for Nostr.

Agreed!! It’s just frustrating because this is a group that SHOULD know better than to trust centralized networks!!

Great article, mate!

Thank you!!

I barely use Twitter; barely use social media at all. Biggest reason I still hop on there is news. Anyone got a good list of direct or x-post of the major players of non-bitcoin news and current events? If it's comprehensive enough I'd drop X completely.

“Major players of non-Bitcoin news and current events”

…do you know how massive and broad of a category this is?

I’m in the same boat. I really don’t want to be on X more than I have to… slowly but surely they will come.

Great article!

Thank you!!

Good article. We need more articles in other markets outside of Bitcoin. Are you a freelancer? Wired magazine would be a good target, etc.

I am a freelancer. I’ll have to check out wired 🤔 good idea!
