I still have people tell me that Bitcoin is just another crypto, backed by nothing and it can fail at any time, unlike fiat currencies that are backed by central banks.
I’ve long ago learned to school my features like a palace consort so that I don’t explode with laughter at this sentiment or at least pull the wrong face.

There's over 30 forks of Bitcoin, each with the same cap. So, yes it's more cultism and tribalism than actually anything of functional value.
In other words, Bitcoin doesn't really change anything.
What's the difference between lighting and MasterCard when you're paying for a burger?
