Yup. I was chatting with someone at work about buying a two bedroom home. He said you'll be moving up into bigger and bigger places like me soon.

I was just scratching my head like why? I don't need a mansion. As long as I'm a nice area and have enough space for what I actually need I'm happy. As long as the ten year old car is still reliable I'll drive it. I don't care about keeping up with the Joneses.

That's what most lifestyle creep comes from imo. Just plain old one-upmanship.
