I left in '21, but while there I have seen CTA repair those, and they do maintain the track. It's not New York City where the trains are one bolt way from a 200 passenger fatality. But yea, huge stretches do look quite ... rustic.

..but it will still be there in 10 years (and despite how corrupt the city is, they do tend to fix these things). In China, it would look perfect, but be cracking on the inside and randomly cause a bridge collapse within 3 years of it being built.
