I don't think most people want censorship. I want more tools for more users to improve their experience. Maybe I'm wrong and people are calling for censorship, but I don't see it that way?

The beauty of this protocol is that it allows voluntary censorship. We simply don't have the tools yet to enable people to do that to themselves, but they will come I'm sure. At some point we'll probably have relays that deal with "bad actors" at a relay level so people who join those relays don't have to be exposed to those assholes.

I don't see any problems with that. If your typical experience is assholes ruining your mood, go ahead and use these services.

It's a shitty thing to say "toughen up" if you're not usually on the receiving end of shitty comments all the time.

That seems like a suboptimal way to live

.. but otherwise i agree. Tools will come for people to curate their experience and shove themselves in a nice tight echo chamber if that is what they want.

Yes, understandable for YOU. But, the world is not full of people with your mind who are impervious to degens. Should we say "tough luck" to them, or try to welcome them here?

I'd rather they join, and be in charge of how they perceive nostr. It's easy to say "too bad, this is how it is, go away if you don't like it". I prefer the harder path.
