Havent been able to get android and iOS bitchat instances to find each other.

How might I troubleshoot?

There's an app (at least on Android) called "BLE scanner" that will let you see if both are advertising and what as.

Another called "nRF Connect" let's you connect and sent/receive data, once you have determined they're advertising.

Btw which app did you use to make a correction to your note?
