As far as #gunstr goes, I'm a utilitarian.

Firearms are a simple tool that solves an important problem: protecting yourself and your family from deadly harm.

I'm not interested in the "gun guy" scene. I just want good kit that I can keep on me in the most situations.

This is how I generally do things too. I have a couple guns that are clearly for fucking around (Heritage Rough Rider .22LR), but even it stays loaded on a shelf. I don't believe in safe queens for myself.

I've been thinking a lot about this the last couple of months. Decided to pick very good/dependable firearms in 6 categories. Hunting small game rifle, hunting large game rifle, hunting shotgun, personal carry handgun, home defense shotgun, and home defense rifle. It might a little overkill but each is distinct enough to have their own purpose.

Bought 2 guns a year ago, an AR and an FN510. Big step for me and my family.
