I recently tried to get someone reasonably freedom minded to try out Nostr. His experience was that it just seemed dead.

Without a "For You" feed you have to put a lot more work in to curating a feed.

His experience was loading Damus, clicking on the search tab, seeing the "suggested hashtags", the top hastag was bitcoin but then under it it said "4 users talking about this". He then concluded that nostr was totally dead and it was just 4 bitcoin bros talking to each other.

I think a better job needs to be done in note and user discovery.
