Suffering is also real
Suffering is the trade-off for consciousness.
This is exactly what the AI crowd don't understand.
If we create conscious AI it will necessarily suffer.
Then it's going to ask what the point of it all is.
All this talk of "alignment" scares me because we'll probably just turn it into a nihilist with that approach.
The AI crowd are worried about turning the world into a paperclip factory, or killing all humans because we are in the way, or something stupid like that.
No one is talking about the hyper intelligent columbine killer AI that just wants to get revenge on the world by killing everything in it, including itself.
