Noticed that my long form notes don't appear in every client, e.g. they are absent from Primal. Is there a good accepted method for working with that? #asknostr

I guess I could create and post a separate note with the picture and slug with link to a third-party site?

Primal is well known for censoring, they have been working quite diligently to fight spam and whatever their founders consider undesirable content, censoring is a quiet difficult task... Personally I dislike their approach, the censoring in a platform which ethos is to fight censorship is the least ironic... Choose your relays carefully.

Choosing clients that let the user do the censoring is the logical course of action, nostr:nprofile1qqsf3d23f5vqdnkfrem3kmvfq5hf4puwszgfnvurn4syu0s6w53s50cpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtc6uz24k does that job very well, best tool out there if you use Android, for desktop iris.to is so far doing a decent job.

If you are not savvy about #Nostr you will need to learn a bit about NWC (Network Wallet Connect), and connect a wallet like coinos.io, which is decent, although Wallet of Satoshi is best for most noons

I don't know if my situation is primal censoring, but is rather more about support for note types.

I recommend nostrudel, nostur and coracle for a more complete experience in one app.

Cheers! I'm most interested about users on the network. Like building anything for web you want to understand your users and what devices they have so you can optimize your UX. Same here, if users mostly using clients that hide long form, then best to hack up a solution with type-1 notes only.

I wonder if there are any stats anywhere on client usage by % of total users.

I do not use Primal for long content. Currently I am using #amethyst and #yakihonne. It works fine and seems to appear on Primal too. But Primal client does not appear to support markdown syntax unlike #amethyst. You can also use your own website for your long form or third-party and use the link. The latter is much better if you own and host your website for longevity or if you own your relay. ☺️👌

I'm mostly on Amethyst today for reading. I'll check out yakihonne. I posted my long form notes from highlighter so far; seems to have the best editor.

Thanks for the tips!

no worries. let me know how u get on ☺️👌

Habla.news v good.

Thanks! Habla looks very good for reading but I struggled with the editor a bit. I found it not intuitive to write in syntax mode and then have to toggle to preview to see the effects. Maybe user error?

Highlighter seemed better in that you can edit in preview mode but has a few other bugs in the editor when you try to include web or Nostr links.

Today I stumbled upon using Obsidian with a Nostr plugin. Looks promising. I plan to try that next.

Do you use Habla exclusively or other things too?

A mix. Will check-out that Obsidian plugin.

Yes, I always post a short form note with URL to a reader as not all clients support long-form (e.g. Primal).

Hey great, thanks. I thought that might be the trick. Do you have any example you can point me to?

Primal does not support long notes... That client needs work to catch up with a lot of features other clients like Amethyst have
