It may just be down to the underlying protocol tho i think. Not 100% sure. Its not the end of the world and in many respects is fine. Ie i dont mind for myself. But someway prefer the option to selectively reveal certain aspects

It’s 100% just over excited developers. The protocol is fine.
It’s a symptom of apps not wanting to store state themselves and load from the network. It’s great for switching apps, but crap if you didn’t realise you just shared so much stuff without knowing.
Nostr DMs are encrypted, and other data can be in future too. Likely still leak metadata, like updated at or size of event, etc.
Just a hurdle.
I would consider them appropriately excited. I’m 100% with them.
What I’m talking about is minor and will be easily resolved if needed over time..
