It blows my mind when people talk about privacy / not secure and mention LN/bitty lol.
Like sure, it can be very not private/secure(custodians)
But it can be very private, coinjoins/whirlpool/tor nodes&channels/deep multiple cold storages.
lightning=very insecure, only experimental and not recommended for larger amounts by lightning itself. lightning is only an additional centralized layer on top of the bitcoin layer:

you recommend an article 18 month old about lightning? didnt know you are so bearish on LN.
but yeah its considered still reckless, but LN gives me hope because its a working scaling solution. but work in progress...

the system itself is centralized
it is not protected from double spending
it is not 100% private which means it is not private
for micropayments it does not matter
most people think that it is bitcoin which it is not
