Too much being reported all at once, fishy

publications like to focus on anything that's going to get clicks. Planes falling out of the sky get clicks. My guess is there are probably systemic quality control issues at Boeing, and have always been there, but the media is just now catching on that reporting about it non-stop is going to get a lot of views.

Not exactly. Boeing has always been a quality company. But in 1997 they merged with a ā€œcost-cuttingā€ company, McDonald-Douglas, which had a history of poor quality control. Well, as so often happens, ā€œcost-cuttingā€ wins out and the quality of Boeing has fallen dramatically. #enshittification reigns again.
