I was technically incorrect in saying Core v30 directly "enabled" Citrea's launch. As far as I now understand it would have proceeded anyway.

Still… the op_return uncap does expand the practical toolbox for projects like Citrea to embed non-monetary data (proofs, anchors, commitments) more cleanly and reliably on Bitcoin, meaning it incentivizes such activity.

My core criticism stands. v30 represents a stark philosophical pivot from Bitcoin's ethos as uncompromised sound money, to standardizing and facilitating grift-friendly data embedding under the guise of "harm reduction."

This sends a disastrous signal: Bitcoin is now open for "innovation" that prioritizes non-monetary payloads, expands spam attack surfaces, invites chain bloat and centralization risks, erodes first principles, and unites grifters while fracturing the social layer.
