American Evangelicals have a hermeneutic that prioritizes the Old Testament, which means Old Testament land promises and nationalism still only applies to the literal bloodline of Israel.

Never mind that Jesus personally abrogates this, and then Paul and the other Apostles confirm that it's abrogated. That doesn't matter to them. It doesn't jive with their eschatological speculations, so they just ignore the explicit statements that the Christian Church is the new Israel.
