Just activated a $1 sim card with a fake name and with a visa gift card paid for with bitcoin. If you are not SIM cycling every couple months, you are putting yourself at risk. Bonus points if your device is degoogled. Especially if you are going to Nashville. protect your shit.

I use Silent.Link esim paid in Bitcoin or Monero, not a single information is required, not even an email.

Also I think I would rather do what I am doing and be able to have a degoogled pixel on top of it. We all have our preferences.

You have options with voice and sms for 59$/year, but I use the data only version, mostly for travelling.
