Will be migrating all of my stainless kitchen goods to 18/0, just iron sealed in chromium without any toxic nickel.

Flatware, camp cups, measuring cups, and pots n pans. It's all being replaced.

Chromium is toxic too...

Up to several thousand micrograms a day is beneficial, which is within the amount you'd get from kitchen products.

A couple thousand micrograms of nickel is insanely toxic and will build up over time.

I would be not so sure. Check better quantities and what makes steel leak those metals into the food.

My grandma lived to 95 and cooked in aluminum or teflon pans all her life. Not saying thatโ€™s optimal, but for now my worry is much more on pesticides, herbicides or other elements on the food itself.

I like to do the obvious things I can control. Obtaining good 18/0 I can pass down is worth it. Nickel is very bad for women especially. Linked to PCOS, infertility, and rabid H Pylori. Nickel stainless is fairly new.

Our grandparents had the benefit of living in a much lower toxin environment, something we (and our kids) don't.

We have to play offense and defense.

Have you considered silver flatware?

No but worth evaluating *sterling* flatware, not silver coated.

$5000 a set. ๐Ÿ˜‚

So about $20,000-$30,000 to be fully stocked.

You can find them at estate sales. Younger people have no idea what to do with them. They will last forever.

Of course

Did you try the no nickel stainless pans from Australia? Itโ€™s still on my to do list to replace a couple pans with their product.

Waiting for them to launch their US shop. Should be in 2026!

Thoughts on the ceramic nonstick pans?
