Ok so I see a note I like I zap it. Make no mistake, I zap the note not the npub (overwhelmingly). Not being able to do so fucks my value for value system. Maybe you don't need my zap, maybe I don't need your zap... but to deny the possibility to close a karmic loop, well that's selfish. It's not hardcore selfish it's just light selfish.
I think I understand. If someone sends the note which sparks joy, or is informative, funny, etc you wish to reciprocate that feeling or value to the author -- the zap is an expression of gratitude in this sense -- but by not having set up the ability to receive the zaps, I am denying your the ability to express the gratitude or satisfaction.... Thus, our interaction is left one-sided and is incomplete: there can be no closure to the karmic loop and so a small blockage is created which could foreseeably accumulate over time if projected forward. Oh my this is not good.
