Every time I open Amethyst, it connects and refreshes within half a second. But every time I open Primal, it needs minutes to connect and refresh.
I even tried to set up the exact same relays in Primal as I have in Amethyst, but it didn't change anything.
Why is that?
Does Primal just generally suck, or am I too stupid to use it properly?

It could be device specific, because I don't have that problem at all. I use both.

Primal has always worked like a dream for me, but I don't mess about with the relays, I just use it as it comes, never had any spam either!

I think primal will use a private cache to speed itself up. Maybe for you this is backfiring. Maybe their cache is throttling you directly.
Are you using a Vpn?
I'm using a VPN for both Primal and Amethyst.
Even paying a million sats for a Primal "Legends" subscription wasn't enough to get them to stop throttling and blacklisting me
I say "throttling and blacklisting" because aside from being incredibly slow, there are also times where they just fully block the app from loading for me at all
Primal just generally sucks
Same experience here, but Damus instead of amethyst. Primal needs a solid few seconds to refresh timeline
