I can buy Bitcoin on Strike and use it in the LN, but how do I move the #bitcoin I have onto the lightening network? This doesn't seem like it should be a difficult proposition, but none of the lightening wallets I have seem to allow for this. WoS, Strike, Alby.
I just installed Alby, does it not have an LN address?
Muun wallet works for this.
You have just one balance there and they use submarine swaps to switch over. Fees unpredictable and often a bit higher but very useful when you need to move between Lightning and on-chain π€

I am still not exactly sure what one sees, but I got a couple other zaps just before yours and got notifications for those, maybe bcos they used WoS.. not sure
I'm with the other dude. I've tried all the big wallets over the years and I just use Muun. Yes fees are slightly higher, but it's more than worth it to not have to deal with moving between on-chain and LN.
There's usually a receive button that sets up your channel.
Yeah, I can do that easy enough, but there is no persistent address like I have for WoS or Strike.

There are two ways to move cash money to lightning on strike. One, as you mentioned, is to buy bitcoin. You canβt send it directly to lightning though, as the bitcoin is held on chain. Therefore, you send it to your lightning nodes on chain wallet, and open a channel with it. If you donβt have your own node, you need to start one for this option. If youβd like to send lightning bitcoin directly to a custodial service like WoS, youβll need to produce a lightning invoice within that service, and then scan it from the home page in strike using the QR code reader top right. Instead of βbuyingβ bitcoin, and then sending it, you simply pay the lightning invoice and strike will send your sats over lightning network to your other wallet service
If all your cash money is tied up in bitcoin previously purchased, and you want to move all or some of that bitcoin to one of the lightning wallets you control, simply sell your bitcoin within strike, and then generate an invoice equivalent to that amount, and pay it using the home page
