Why do you say this? Isn’t it just a programming language, presumably as good for surveillance as any other.
Or is there some nefarious google backdoor in the standard library I don’t know about?

That would be bad, but seems like a minor reason to hate golang. I love it’s standard library, the support for niche platforms like openbsd (rust sucks for this), docs are great too.
