For quite a long time my lnd frequently kept restarting because my btc node was not handling requests.
lnd fucked, lnbits fucked, mempool fucked ...
After I disabled i2p it's all rock solid.
I think you’re right. I’ve got single channel and I can see that sending zaps takes some time but eventually it works. I need another one.
Only a few people will use self-custody lightning. Even fewer understand this.

1) node running
2) fixing bugs in code
3) filing issues, testing and social requests.
Unfortunately this is the case with most of us who aren't being paid to do the hard work that everybody else just takes a free ride on.
