This should become standard practice. Of course, devs can lie. But at least that lie is written in a note distributed to multiple relays and we can shove their nose into it if we spot some bullshit. I mean, it is expected from an academics. They lie too… but that.s not the point.

I was surprised when I discovered that VC’s were funding nostr projects. On one hand because it means they have foreseen a business model (or maybe just the hope of it). On the other hand it was because the projects claimed to be building freedom tech, but had received investments, not donations. I have always found it interesting that no one questions why billionaires and VCs would be interested in a technology that is supposedly anti-capitalist and empowers the masses. Like when have these people ever had purely altruistic motivations for their actions? How are they supposed agents of change when they keep their day jobs that prop up the current system?
