Everytime you change installation method (say Google Play to FDroid), you have to uninstall and install again. That's on purpose to make sure people update in the place they first downloaded the app.
Android App Developers - I have a question. I don't use Google PlayStore much, I prefer F-Droid or Amazon Aurora. If I install an app from F-Droid or maybe via direct download, and then Aurora says it is out of date and downloads it, sometimes it cannot install and says "Conflicting package exists". Why is this and how should I handle this? It's hard for me to remember if I used Google Play, Amazon Aurora, F-Droid, or I sideloaded a .apk file. The installation system should only update packages that it installed, instead of downloading something and then deciding it conflicts.
I agree. Why is Aurora trying to update something it didn't install in the first place?
Always stick with just one. I recommend installing via Obtainium.
