Back in my day, we went to school with a foot of snow on the roads, sliding off the mountain roads into ditches, and then walked a mile and a half home to go sled riding all day.

When my bus wrecked, at 10 years old I went and told the bus driver that I was walking home and I did it. I could not imagine bus driver's letting this happen today. And if a kid tried it, they'd probably be disciplined for it. SMH.
