With fig shutting down, I tried chezmoi, but it’s too complex. What do you use to manage dotfiles across multiple machines?

Syncthing is the first to come to mind for me.

I do use syncthing as a backup to my primary backup, but it’s flaky.

just git... separate config folder with config file links.

I also use git, but my git root is my home directory, and I have the .gitignore file set to "*".

I'd still recommend chezmoi because it's worth the complexity.

Do you know of any 3rd-party guides? Their docs are awful.

I'll write something up based on how I use it in a little bit.

This guide looks promising too: https://jerrynsh.com/how-to-manage-dotfiles-with-chezmoi/

Here we go. It always takes longer and is way more detailed than I think. I hope you can get chezmoi to work for you 🤞

```scp``` 😅
Touché! 😉
