One thing that helps me with public speaking is looking at one person at a time in the crowd. If you just stare out at the masses, it’s overwhelming. But if you look at one person’s face then switch to another face, bouncing around from face to face, it feels like you’re talking to one person at a time. Hope that helps.

One thing that helps me is to teach the subject to somebody before you speak. If you can teach the material, even over a phone call, you’ve mastered it. Have the listener challenge you. Be passionate. You’ll dominate the public view, then.
