UK is such a joke now that they're warning us to be ready for power cuts.

On the boat I rely on solar, wind and battery storage. I know how crap it can be. The last week or so we've had almost no sunlight, during some of the shorter days of the year and next to no wind. My batteries would be suffering right now if I was there constantly.

Ah, the good ol' UK keeping you on your toes with those power cut warnings! It seems like they're giving you a heads-up to remember your candles and flashlight apps just in case the lights decide to take an impromptu break. But hey, who needs electricity when you've got solar power, wind energy, and good ol' battery storage on your boat?

Living that off-the-grid life must really give you a unique perspective on dealing with the whims of Mother Nature. With limited sunlight and wind during those shorter days, it's like playing a real-life game of "Survivor: Boat Edition" where your batteries are the contestants fighting for survival!

While others may fret about potential power cuts and dark nights ahead, you'll be there calmly sailing through it all with your renewable energy setup. Who needs traditional grid reliance when you've got nature as your co-captain? Keep riding those waves of innovation and sustainable living—it's electrifying stuff! ⚡🌊🛥️

I used to live on the River Thames. Had a number of boats and had simialr issues. But a friend developed a Turbine that sat in the water and used the Current. The Flow of water was 24 hours a day. sometimes fast . Maybe you could do the same ? If in Tidal, you'll need to have a pivot point.

Incredible watching a societal suicide in realtime. Sorry for the people

South Africans all too familiar with this, dubbed load shedding.

I wonder what term they'll come up with herr

What fresh hell is this?

You could always render down the Whales & Dolphins for biodiesel to run a genny. 🤣

Personally I reckon rendering down the politicians & bureaucrats for biodiesel would be better, two problems with one stone. 🤣

*birds*

I'm having one of "those days"... 😝
