Well, I blame moon seekers. The pivot point was the arrest of Ross Ulbricht. All the shit can be traced back to then. If I had any doubts about how weak the herd (of bitcoiners) had become at that point, they were dispelled spring of 2016. So, imo, it was over before the majority of people who today own bitcoin has even a satoshi.

state transitions tend to be shockingly fast, you should try titrating a solution to pH 7.0 exactly, same deal, the "gradually then suddenly" meme is a bit exaggerated, because generally it's "nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing gradually HOLY SHIT"
