Retard here: is linux the Bitcoin of os?
yes
It's also the XMR and zcash of os, and the arguments are not too dissimilar.
Basically. There’s BSD too but the main difference between them seems to be in the license (despite software not being split evenly along those lines
Technically, the code base is different because BSD is a fork of Unix and Linux is a "clone" of Unix. Linux is a complete rewrite that functionally mimics Unix.
hard to understand, has bad ux, is open source and freedom maximizing ... sounds about right
Idk why everyone hates on Bitcoin UX. I find the UX for the Bitcoin software I use (Sparrow, Zeus, Muun) to be quite good. Even in comparison to a lot of legacy big tech I’m forced to interact with on occasion.
There are actually a lot of people using S3 and even WebDAV mounted as disks, and the software that drives these virtual disks tries desperately to mimic being a local disk drive with poor local caching and extremely high latency.
Increasing my swap to ten gigs right away :-) .
I used to make flash drives into swap space in 2003 also Windows XP was doing a similar swap space and it worked. I don't think that your Internet is faster than the processor and bus of the computer so your calls to swap are limited to the speed of your Internet.
buy 10 MSTR 10ETF and send it nostr:npub12rv5lskctqxxs2c8rf2zlzc7xx3qpvzs3w4etgemauy9thegr43sf485vg as cashu - same as mapping remote drive as swap / virtual ram
