nostr:npub1n0sturny6w9zn2wwexju3m6asu7zh7jnv2jt2kx6tlmfhs7thq0qnflahe A feature suggestion: tap the top bar for top of the feed

On top there’s this empty space between the profile pic, Nostur icon and the settings on the right.

By tapping it would be nice to go to the top of the current feed. Twitter Apple apps work that way and it’s so useful.

The current auto-feature does not work the same nor the new count icon on the right.

This works on my phone…

Ok. Might be an iPad issue then when splitting the screen.

How exactly should it work? I want to implement all these “hidden” navigation improvements. The last one was navigating back and to top with the bottom tab buttons, explained to me by nostr:npub1lrnvvs6z78s9yjqxxr38uyqkmn34lsaxznnqgd877j4z2qej3j5s09qnw5 and nostr:npub14f6xcqnv8vmauty6wg0mlrs3qg6llwe4lxtzqqpdnlmqah47nxrq60qvty, I never knew this was possible and now I use it all the time.

It should already work with the top of the screen unless they’re talking about somewhere different. I think it may just be an iPhone thing already. Go in Nostur or Damus or Safari for that matter, and scroll down the page a few scrolls. Then tap the very top of your screen in the area where the notch/earpiece/camera are and it should scroll to the top.

True. It works on iPad, too.

I never thought of tapping the icon bar for some reason on Nostur that is the “OS system” area (yellow in the pic). Was always trying within the app area (red) as it works on Twitter app.

tapping the very top (middle)part of your screen brings you to the top of your current feed, not sure if it does that too if you have dynamic island

When you re-enter your feed it is on the position where you left it. So you can copy-paste things or visit your feed list to look for things and then come back to the same position. So, there’s no auto-loading in the feed.

You can pull down the feed on your position (a spring animation) and it loads the new items on the feed but it does not move your position so they are hidden on top.

When you tap the top it brings you to the top of the feed.

It’s super solid and you can be sure that the feed does not jump nor you lose your current note position ever.

While on the feed view you can also swipe left / right on the current feed to move between feeds.

i see what you mean now, yes that would be awesome, so it would be like what spring for twitter have

The twitter feed view refresh is even more sophisticated. It did not want to mentioned it earlier since I could not reproduce it immediately.

Here goes:

If you’re in the middle of your feed and it has some new items you have not seen yet, and you come back to your feed into that position.

So you have not seen your previous latest updates (but there’s even newer ones now since you came back) tapping once brings you to the previous latest and tapping twice to the ultimate top of the feed.

This does not go on a third level. I suspect it works because the new items are downloaded locally so it has that data on storage but it’s not marked as seen yet. Not sure though.
