Yeah we had to get on nostr.wine.

This is the biggest problem with onboarding, not having a good starter relay set.

It required a paid relay for the zapping feature to work??

The starter relays weren’t saving the profile changes.

Didn’t know that could happen! Was this in Damus?

Yeah. This is the default nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 relay set.

It includes one paid relay that costs 18,888 sats to join and no explanation of how or why to join it.

Every time I help someone join through Damus I have to help bootstrap them, or their profile data usually gets lost.

I’m confused about why the Lightning address doesn’t save, though. Isn’t that a client-side item, not a relay issue?

I thought that was published to relays it explains why I sometimes get zaps to my old Lightning addresses.

What about ZBD social? Is this maybe a good onboarding client? 🤔

Not for everyone. It’s completely locked down (your key is not portable yet), and it’s geofenced so if you’re outside their service area, you can’t access it.

Oh didn’t know that =/

Depends on the person. I love ZBD because of the existing community and the huge welcome I had right away from ZBD folks. I’d previously tried Damus on my own, was lost, and left nostr.
