I don't think you could settle on a single version; just look at the replies already. For the English language, KJV would be the most universal, and even though many Catholics like it, it does arguably have a little anti-Catholic bias in parts. I would like to see a system that ties the notes to the book/chapter/verse references and could be paired with any version. There are some occasional numbering differences between Old Testament translations based on the Greek Septuagint and Latin Vulgate verses the Hebrew, but those can be mapped to each other. Biblegateway.com handles this.

What would be the best version of the Bible to use on Nostr?
Since there's quite some overlap between Nostr, Bitcoin, the Jordan Peterson crowd and Christians, I see it as one of the ideal documents to demonstrate the potential of Highlighter.
Just imagining reading it with the margin notes of nostr:nprofile1qqsf03c2gsmx5ef4c9zmxvlew04gdh7u94afnknp33qvv3c94kvwxgspz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3xamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7tpvfkx2tn0wfnszymhwden5te0dehhxarj9cmrswpwdaexwnanw2j , nostr:nprofile1qqsrv28x54myet9txyz8fj0eckyx27vfca94aur333lxurjn52slwucprpmhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuumwdae8gtnnda3kjctvqyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqyfhwumn8ghj7m3j8yhxummnw3ezucm0d5wtx8x3 , nostr:nprofile1qqsyllq3h730s5t2az78c6lcyf6axk8ywpz5gcjshcksu4sjug2qs2qpp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqprfmhxue69uhkummnw3ezummjv9hxwetsd9kxctnyv4mqz9rhwden5te0wfjkccte9ehx7um5wghxyecjel6ek , @Gigi, nostr:nprofile1qqsvqdax397ls6lafh65jm98ugccny45we5f07ccl0gax3ay73ze7hsprfmhxue69uhkummnw3ezummjv9hxwetsd9kxctnyv4mqz8rhwden5te0dehhxarj94ex2mrp0yh8wmrkwvh8xurpvdjszythwden5te0dehhxarj9eex7cmtwvz2ke3z etc right next to the text, damn. Sure gets me excited!

Biblegateway-like switching between translations, while having access to all margin notes, is indeed the goal. But starting with one can be implemented faster. Hence my question 😉.
Although in the end, it's translations and we need something for that anyway.
Now people like nostr:npub10awzknjg5r5lajnr53438ndcyjylgqsrnrtq5grs495v42qc6awsj45ys7 etc are publishing their guides in several languages, but it would be silly for the French plebs not to see the highlights of the Germans.
Thanks for reprioritising that for me!
